My Internship Experience @ Colomono Studio

Hello readers! I'm currently having my last weekend of my mid sem break right now, so today I'll be sharing about my internship experience at Colomono Penang that I was supposed to blog about it waaaaaay earlier as I finished it on 1st of April, somehow it was postponed for N times due to the workloads and it's rather difficult comparing to food post because I had no idea how to start, like there are so many stuff to talk about, so many fun happenings in 3 months! Tbh I've never thought I could really enjoy working this much that I actually can't wait to go to work every day! Continue your read and you'll know why :)
A humble looking exterior at first sight and my first thought was "o..k....", tbh I was very envious of my friends who get to go KL for their internship while there were very few Broadcasting students who stayed in Penang. But, of course after working for three months, I couldn't be more glad to intern here.

So I'm gonna first introduce what excites me the most when I first started to work here.
Dolly! A golden retriever that doesn't retrieve gold lol
Cassie, a very fierce dog at first that finally allowed me to touch her after a couple of weeks! So basically the first thing I do when I stepped foot in the studio is to rush to the kitchen, just to see them waving their tails at me :3 I'm so sorry to my colleagues back then because what excites me happened to be the two dogs behind the studio instead of you guys haha, we weren't as close as we are now teehee.

My job during my internship was basically edit long version wedding and come out with a corporate video with my two other intern friends. I've edited two long version weddings, one Chinese and one Hindu. Somehow we always work beyond the job scope which was kinda fun, such as painting the office walls, feeding the dogs, do some light housekeeping, shopped for groceries for the company, ok I kinda miss that life right now.
We shopped for our company steamboat and that's when I found out there were some really funny guys at work. On the steamboat day itself, we did lots of preparation work like cleaning the ingredients while the guys prepared the gas, chairs outside. The bottom right photo was taken when the colleagues were shooting for a video competition which they got the 3rd prize! After the steamboat session, we went for a movie night watching "Her".

This was taken after the movie, good old time :)

Remember when I said the colleagues won the 3rd prize in a video competition? It turned out that everyone in the Colomono family was treated at House of Steamboat! Throughout my internship period I already had like three or four times of steamboat, so my friends at college actually said I gained weight after 3 months.

Also, not to forget all the treats from bosses and colleagues! The first row was where we had our lunch at Morganfield's. Next, we had yee sang in the studio and celebrated one of the bosses' birthday. Moving on to the drinks from Tong Pak Fu after some light housekeeping. Last but not least, the Tau Fu Fa which boss always buys for us on a regular basis, but that's not all! There were also spring rolls, subway cookies, bubur chacha, herbal tea, ice cream, appom and lots more! Also, for our farewell lunch, boss treated us lunch at KOI Japanese Restaurant which I blogged about it HERE. Well that explained how I gained weight. Fat but happy tummy back then :)

A huge part of my internship was made up of food, food, more food with the combination of fun and laughters. Besides, I'm really thankful for all the teachings and guidance from the Colomonians, especially for the corporate video, it wouldn't be possible without all the helping hands. Whatever problems or questions we faced throughout the internship period, all of you managed to help us out even tho you had some other tasks going on, we really couldn't thank you more :)

Finally, all the interns were presented a clapper board with our own names on it! Was happy and down at the same time when I held it in my hands as it indicates that my internship was coming to an end.

One last group photo before I end this post
Missing J boss, Five, Abel, Angela was behind the phone. I'll give them a short intro each, so you may skip this part if you want. The one in stripes shirt is Tyger, subway cookies supplier and also good in editing stuff, always run to him when there's trouble, TY hoho. The guy in pink, Yang Kwang, talented in chair-falling, just cause he can fall off from his chair just by stretching. Boss W is behind me, tau fu fa supplier, thanks for the lessons you taught! The only girl beside me, Ker Li, hope you succeed in dieting la ok? Don't just teach us to do online shopping ok? The one and only guy without body, Joseph, you laugh in a really funny way with all your funny conversation haha. The guy in black, Forrest aka Bangala, stay dark so we can always make fun of you! Btw really thanks for helping me as well. The guy in cap, Sunzane, another funneh guy who taught us how to use a slider, ty for everything else in case I forgot. The one on the far right, CY, fierce, fierce, still fierce, smile and don't frighten new interns awaaaaay (god bless for writing this)

Phew that was a long one, in overall, it was an enjoyable three months with all of you peepo.
Colomonian rocks, and will continue rocking!

Drama Shooting

This post is going to be about our advanced TV drama shooting and since my friends had contribute a lot in this assignment, I would really like to dedicate this post to them :) you know who you are, Champ Production (yep that's our group name)! We used 4 days to complete our shooting just for a 10 minutes drama! Now I really understand how hard it is to be a movie director as they will get blamed for a bad movie but they will not get compliments for good movies because audience will normally praise the actors/actresses.
Presenting our main female character, Virginia! Thanks for your high cooperation and your bravery in this drama. We were actually shooting for a thriller kind of drama and she was required to be a ghost, she's such a brave girl that she even lay in a hole somewhere in the bushes at night (the killer was supposed to "bury" her).

And we had to spill fake blood on her body as she was "crashed" by a car, so sorry for your skin allergy :(
Thank you once again for doing all this without a word of complaint.

And how funny is that when we were shooting for this scene, some motorists thought that this was a real accident and one of them even when "HUIYO!" And when we were shooting for the part where the killer has to bury her, a car stopped by and asked us what we are doing, as if we are really burying a body lol.

The guy in white is our killer, Chee Ho. Thank you for your great acting skills so that we didn't have to NG for so many times. The one in green is our director, Annie, thanks a lot for your great story and for preparing the fake blood, make up, dropping me home etc and really DEEPLY sorry for leaving your camera all alone in college, luckily it is safe now haha.

Another thank you for the girl in black, Ku (don't call her Li Hua). She's a PR student and was actually asked by Virginia to accompany her cause she was too afraid. Thanks for your company and ensure that Virginia didn't cry, also ty for carrying the sound recorder.

The girl in Starbucks singlet is our videographer/editor, Pauline! Like seriously I couldn't thank you more, you were serious all the time and that scares me XD. You handled all the shots and editing very well and this shooting wouldn't go smoothly without you. So sorry that you have to do most of the editing by yourself.

The girl in black is Ah Na, who helped mainly in lighting but sometimes sound recording as well. Thank you for your time in this shooting even though you were busy for your GAA performance, and also for fetching YY the careless then carless driver. Not gonna thank myself cause I didn't contribute that much compares to all the others. Thank you all for coping with my blurness.

Me with Virginia the short ghost.

Last but not least, thank you all once again for completing this drama as it's not possible without everyone's help. We went through sweats and starvation together, all of us were tired but I'm sure it will pay off cause we are Champ Production! :) Stay tuned for our screening!

30 October 2013

Phantom Fest at Han Chiang College, Penang.

In conjunction with Halloween, PR students from Han Chiang has organized a fund raising event for Sri Cahaya Home, there are a lot of fun activities like photo booth, haunted house, scary boxes and they are also selling t-shirts, candies, and cookies! Lets check'em out!
The event will only last until tomorrow so do support them and help out the orphanage home!

Home made cookies! You can mix and match it with chips, 2 for RM8! To be honest I've already spent RM19 for their event, just thought it would be easier to ask for their help next time teehee.

Assorted candies available in 3 different designs, missed out the last design but just to let you know the candies are wrapped into the shape of a pumpkin, you can really see that they've put in a lot of efforts in packaging!

You can also send warm messages to the orphans, they really need love and need to know that people care about them.

Things I shared and bought with my friend. Yes to charity!

Scary boxes, participants are required to find the items in the boxes within the time given. I know what's in it but NO I'm not gonna tell, are you bold enough to take the challenge? Winners will then go through a lucky draw session and stand a chance to win free ticket into the haunted house!

As I mentioned there is a photo booth and of course lots of ghost faces, props are even provided and they are so COOL, you can choose to have a prop or dialogue boxes as shown above.

Already have them tested before it was officially started.

They have like sword, hammer, chains, spear and ALL of them are hand made!
RM3 for phone photo and RM5 for polaroid photo. I went for the phone TWICE but definitely worth it because I got to take pictures with any ghosts of my choice and I can take multiple pictures until I'm satisfied with my look, face problem that's why :(

Me in wizard hat, how I wish Hogwarts exists T.T and with the ghost I believe she was "burned" to death.

With Pee Mak and witch.

Sexy vampire, I personally think this is how vampires should look like, not freakin twilight lol (sorry twilight fans.....wait, I'm not sorry actually)

Haunted house! Went to support them although I'm really afraid of ghost, horror movies. Again great efforts were put in and my friend and I planned to revisit them again just to see if there's any improvements on the setting.

I'm going to repeat the statement that tomorrow is the last day for this event! Do show your support as they are not earning profit for themselves, money earned will be donated to the orphanage home, you can also support them by donating stuff you don't want like stationery, clothes, food etc. And seriously how often can you see such events in college? Support away aight!
