Ampang Homeland Yong Tau Fu, Kuala Lumpur.

College is reopening soon like TOMORROW! And I'm here writing bout food I've tried in KL and missing the moment my dear and I had spent together :( It's actually our first trip together and I believe there are more to come hehe. We have tried myBurgerLab previously you can check it out HERE if you haven't. In this post, we visited this yong tau fu shop because bf was craving for rice, he cannot live a day without rice lol. Thanks to uncle again for bringing us here.

There are several YTF shops in that area but we decided to go for this one since there's a parking space.

Dishes that we ordered.

Pork with preserved vegetable. This dish is quite normal for me as I can find the same taste in Penang, the sauce is suitable to be eaten with rice.

Lettuce with oyster sauce. The lettuce used is not too old and it's quite fresh, I can even hear myself chewing the lettuce. I like the oyster sauce because it's able to add more flavours into a tasteless lettuce. I like the dish even though I rarely eat vegetable.

Deep fried dumplings. They are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the fillings taste really good and the outer part smells really nice! You can see that they are not stingy on the amount of fillings inside.

And of course Yong Tau Fu, unlike the YTF in Penang, here they do not serve it with soup. I think it would be easier for the customers if they could cut it at least into half and it's easier for sharing. They taste okay actually but I prefer the one in Penang because they have soup! I'm not a soup person but I like YTF soup a lot (used to snatch it with my bro). The choices here are limited as well.

Must-have sauce while having YTF, sweet sauce + chilli sauce dayummm! Bf asked me to take a photo of it simply because he can poured it nicely (after 2 tries).

In overall the food was average but satisfying (I mean just look at the portion), still prefer Penang's YTF especially the one in Pantai Jerejak!

GTGBBXOXO

My Burger Lab in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

I FFIIINAAAAALLLEEEEHH have the chance to try out my all time wanted burger, myBurgerLab! (how I wish it's really mine) Thanks to my dear and uncle who are willing to take me there love you much much! MBL is opened by 3 guys who are passionate about awesome burgers, check out their info HERE peepo, I enjoyed reading their description :D

We reached there around 8 something and luckily the queue was not that long, they even provide cold water for those who are queueing, how considerate!

I highly recommend that you should really try out their burgers!

The menu is on the wall and everything self service here, can you see the number in red?
It's like a numbering system used in banks where you wait for your order to be done.

Look! Even vegetarians can dine in here (if they can resist the smell of meat) hehe, they are pork-free as well so the Muslims can share the same goodness together :D
Annnnd we can add RM6 to make it into a set which includes fries and soda (which is bottomless!)
There were 5 of us and we ordered:
-2 Say Cheese Chicken
-1 Swisstake
-1 Beautiful Mess 5.0
-The Hulk
Bear in mind that they only accept $CASH$!!

The kitchen staff, they manage to get the order done efficiently in a short time and still manage to maintain its great quality and taste!

The amount of customers coming in is endless like its bottomless drinks! Good food is always worth the wait :D

Some of them even came here after work I supposed (based on their clothings).

This is a much better periodic table compares to the one we learnt in Science.

A wall full of notes! Can you imagine how many customers have been here already?!
I can assure you, guarantee you that the burgers are really great! Now lets move on to the main characters of the day: AWESOME-BURGERS-THAT-WILL-MAKE-U-GAIN-WEIGHT-WILLINGLY

I'm not sure what do they use to create this sauce but it opens up my appetite, it tastes like the mixture of chilli and mayo but I think there's something else that makes me fall for it and I seriously couldn't stop dipping the fries into it!

And speaking of fries, their fries are sprinkled with seaweed and.. pepper? or some other spices I'm not sure as well (pardon me) and they do make the fries even more desirable, and they mix well with the sauce!
(now I miss both of them already)

Uncle's order. Say Cheese Chicken (sharp cheddar + grilled chicken + sauce X).
Even the simplest form of burger is delicious enough for him!

My Swisstake (Swiss cheese, Shiitake and Enoki Mushrooms, and Sauce X ). Not sure if I should pronounce it as Swiss-teik or Swiss-tah-keh. For mushroom lover you're gonna love it! They are fried together with cheese and are then placed on top of the juicy beef patty, while the yellow thin crust at the bottom tastes salty and it blends well with everything! After the first bite I knew that I will finish it at all cause (even if there's a robbery going on lol), and no offence but it's like I no longer crave for Penang's burgers (ok maybe 1 or 2) but MBL is definitely number 1 in my heart now.

Bf's order. Beautiful Mess 5.0 (Fried portabellas, sunny-side up, sharp cheddar). The one with cheese is beef patty while the one under the egg is fried portabellas. Bf almost thought it was a fried chicken patty because it is too crunchy!

Oh I love sunny-side up, just look at how sexy it is when it's dripping.

My Om-Nom-Nom man. Don't kill me if you see this.
He likes it a lot even though he's not a burger addict, superb news for me so I can go there if we visit KL again teehee.

大碗公 Tua Wa Kong, Penang.

Any hokkien mee / prawn mee lover out there? I myself is a great fan of hokkien mee and I used to eat hokkien mee for almost every day when I was in high school! So a couple of months ago there's this shop named Tua Wa Kong which sells rice and not to forget HOKKIEN MEE! At first I was like "it's just another hokkien mee seller la.." but I decided to try it out myself after I've read through the positive comments from other blogs.

It's not merely a stall in a hawker centre but a shop! If you would like to enjoy your bowl of hokkien mee in a clean and air-conditioned environment then this is the place!
(scroll to the end for full address)

They open every day from 11am.-11pm except on Tuesday.

The order is taken at the counter as they do not have menu on every tables.
The menu can be easily understood even by first timer.

They even have dried hokkien mee! And a variety of eggs to choose from, this is a good news for me because I do not fancy hard boiled egg yolk, for people who are similar to me you can choose to have boiled egg or spring egg.

You can even choose the types of noodles too, which is also a good news for picky people (like me).

After you have placed your order, just wait for the red doughnut to vibrate.
Interesting password ey?

Took some time walking around and taking pictures of the interior before the food is ready.

A lot of people from different countries have left notes on the walls, is the food really that nice?!
Lets find out.

Before that, let me introduce the two types of chilli paste, MILD and VERY HOT & SPICY.
Obviously the spiciness are different for people to choose from.
For my mom and I, we choose the VERY SPICY one (because we want to be very hot).

I ordered soup hokkien mee with pork, vermicelli (bihun), and boiled egg! RM8.50
Look how gorgeous my egg yolk is! The price is higher than hawker stalls but the portion is BIG as well! I feel so bloated when I finished it. The chilli paste is quite spicy for me but not so spicy for my mom.
(she added 3 spoonful lol)

Bf's order. Dried hokkien mee with pork, yellow noodle, and spring egg. RM8.50
Spring egg is like those you found in most Japanese ramen. I took a slurp at it and it was okay for me. Bf thinks it was oily and the portion is also very big for him as he struggled to finish it.

In overall all of us prefer soup hokkien noodle and mom thinks the price is reasonable due to its portion and environment, Wi-Fi is provided as well! Mom says she will revisit them again and so do I! For non-noodle lover they sell rice too so do check them out ey!

Moustache Houze, Penang

Finally I'm fully recover from gastric and dreadful vomit routine and baby was really good for bringing me to Fruuze as I complained to him when I was sick hehe. Baby even brought me to this newly opened cafe, Moustache Houze without me asking hehe, he just saw me liking its Facebook page HERE and here we are yeehaa!

Moustache Houze is located at Campbell Street (full address at the end of post) and based on the shop's name, obviously it has something to do with moustache, the whole cafe is moustache-themed so you're able to see a lot of moustache in every corner of the shop, even their cups! It sells only light things such as cakes, crepes, tea, juice, coffee and special ice cubes.
The cafe is not too hard to find as the signboard is noticeable on the road.

The place is comfortable with air-con, suitable for backpackers as they have hostels upstairs too!

Books and magazines are provided to kill time, they have Wi-Fi service as well! :)

Moustache tree, feel free to count the number of moustaches in there.

Menu

Their furniture all look very comfy and nice, loving their displays and the cozy surrounding.
Please note that the seats above cannot be swing thou, was hoping they could :(

The boy who brought me here *hugs and kisses*

We ordered their special ice cubes because we already had our lunch previously, special ice cubes are similar to normal ice cubes but instead of freezing water, they freeze strawberries, kiwis, espresso, chocolate and something-I-forgot
I ordered strawberries cubes and bf ordered espresso cubes.

All the frozen fruit is served with soda (something like 7Up)

While the espresso and chocolate are served with cold milk,
course you don't want them with 7Up do you?

To consume, just pour the milk or soda into the ice cubes and wait for them to melt
If you wanna melt them in your mouth well.... lol

Personally I like my bf's choice more which is the espresso cubes because the taste is stronger and it's fun watching the milk changed from white to brown slowly. For the strawberries, it's quite hard for me to 'catch' the taste of strawberries because the soda is quite sweet itself, maybe they should add more of the cubes or replace with fruit that is stronger in flavour like orange, dragonfruit, durian, ok cut the durian. But for non-coffee lover, you can still have a try on the fruit or chocolate cubes or some other drinks from the menu.

My boy was making himself at home lol.
Thanks to my boy once again for bringing me here!

Us with moustache :D Thank you MH for the photo!

In overall the cafe was good, clean air and clean environment, nice-looking cakes, creative drinks, suitable place for afternoon break or gathering with friends/family, but remember to fill your tummy up first because they do not serve any main course or heavy food :)
